UPDATE: Christina Delfino received her vaccination on 3/10/21 as well as subsequent boosters and will provide proof to clients and vendors upon request.

To my clients and collaborators — In Response to COVID-19:

I understand that anyone who relies on my services is rightfully concerned about the effects of the COVID-19 and my ability to serve makeup clients safely. The health and safety of my clients and colleagues is my top priority and, while my cleanliness standards have always been satisfactory, I am closely monitoring new state-wide and national sanitation and infection control guidelines. In working proactively to keep my clients safe and offer them peace of mind, as of 5/31/2020, I have taken part in and received the following certifications for health-grade sanitization, disinfection, and infection control within the beauty industry:

Sanitation Conversation Certification

Barbicide COVID-19 Certification

Barbicide General Certification

LUCAS-Cide General Certification

You may view each certificate by clicking on the course name.

In addition to previously implemented sanitation and safety protocols laid out by the CDC and the State of New York, I have chosen to incorporate the following practices during all makeup services:

  1. Face Masks/Shields - For the time being. myself(the artist) will be wearing a face mask to every appointment and changing masks between each client. A face shield will also be worn whenever necessary and/or whenever the client requests it.

  2. Adequate Spacing/Social Distancing - A 6FT perimeter around the client and artist’s table will be enforced at every location. Rooms may not be overcrowded(each person must maintain social distancing boundaries) and a separate room for readying clients prior to weddings will be highly suggested.

  3. Disinfection of Surfaces - All surfaces touched by myself or my kit will be sanitized throughly. The kit itself and all products in it will be sanitized before and after each event.

  4. Face Washing - I will request that all applicants wash their face directly before their application and will have face soap available to those who have not brought their own.

  5. Disposables/Disposable Brush Sets - While I have a large amount of makeup brushes that are cleaned and sanitized properly for each applicant, clients with extra concerns are more than welcome to purchase a disposable brush set for my use, which they may keep. I have been safely using other disposables(sponges, mascara wands, Q-Tips, cotton rounds, cotton balls, lip brushes, etc…) for several years and, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, have decided to look into purchasing more sustainable and environmentally-friendly disposables since their use is suggested whenever possible now.

  6. Depotting/Decanting - I will continue to depot and decant all products from their original vessel and onto a disposable palette before applying to any client. Disposable palettes of wax paper or sanitary stickers applied to the back of the hand will be changed for each client. I will also do my best to minimize the use of products that much touch the client’s skin or mucal areas(liner pencils, eye crayons, etc…), instead reaching for gel-based potted options that I can safely apply with a brush or disposable. I have always given each client their own tube of lipstick and will continue to do so(this is included in the cost of your services).

  7. COVID-19 Waivers - At the state’s suggestion, all clients names will be documented and all client will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver themselves or have a representative of the group sign on their behalf. This waiver addresses the client’s awareness of the risk in participating in makeup services during the COVID-19 pandemic and releases both parties(myself and the client) from liability should someone become sick. Most importantly, having the names of every person in the bridal party gives me the ability to help contact trace, notify anyone that I serviced after that person, and to dispose of anything in my kit that is necessary as a result(as a result of new guidelines, this will hopefully not be an issue).

I will continue to update these practices as necessary. If you or anyone in your bridal party has specific concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly at Christina@christinadelfino.com and we will work through any concerns or complications together to give everyone peace of mind.

Stay safe!

Xoxo,
Christina

COVID FAQs

  • Are you vaccinated and boosted? Yes and yes. I am personally committed to receiving boosters as regularly as they are rolled out. All additional artists must provide me with vaccination records before being booked.

  • Can you provide proof to me/my venue? Absolutely.

  • Will you wear a mask at my event? Yes! I am still masking in public in my everyday life and I intend to continue doing so at work. I have N95s available for clients who would prefer I wear those as well.

  • Can you provide a negative test? Of course. I am home testing before every event and will provide each client with the results.

  • Local health officials must approve the event. If there is a State of Emergency(for any reason) declared or if state guidelines regarding weddings change again, I will reassess my presence on an individual basis.

  • Any unvaccinated guests must provide a negative test prior to having their makeup done.
